We manufacture basset horns and bass clarinets with the German and French fingering systems, but with a German bore. This is narrower than French bores from other manufacturers, but as with French instruments of this design, it is completely cylindrical.

This results in a compact, very powerful sound that reaches far into the room instead of being perceived loudly only around the player. The same amount of air is projected further into the room with a narrower bore.
This traditional German sound is particularly well suited to orchestral music by European composers from the Classical and Romantic periods.
These concepts often existed in the 19th and early 20th centuries, but were often not taken up again after the Second World War (due to a lack of knowledge or companies that no longer existed).
We would like to close this gap, because many companies already make wide-bore basset horns and bass clarinets.
