The SEGGELKE thumb rest
Many years of experience have taught us that the perfect thumb rest is often the solution to many problems for the player !
For this reason, there are a few options from our workshop on this topic:
The new SEGGELKE thumb rest
Our new thumb rest has a metal plate between the thumb and the clarinet body. Just like the wooden thumb rest, this allows the hand to be positioned in a more natural position while playing. In addition, the “floating” plate means that the body is not touched by the plate at this point and can vibrate more freely.

The wooden thumb plate
The thumb rest has a wooden plate that is attached to the body of the lower joint. The thumb rest is mounted onto the plate. This opens the right hand slightly when playing, bringing it into a more natural position.
On our Seggelke-Lines , the wooden thumb rest is standard on the A clarinets with low e-f mechanism.
