Bass CLARINETS in German
and French fingering systems MODEL 2000 & 3000

Our bass clarinets from the Schwenk & Seggelke line are available in the French and German fingering systems. All instruments have a German bore and are absolutely equivalent in sound. Our bass clarinets allow you to find your optimal playing style. For demanding musicians, we can even combine elements of both systems according to your individual wishes.

The new dimension in the top class – Our German bore with innovative improvements

Schwenk & Seggelke‘s integrated innovation for bass clarinets is based on the proven German bore and has been developed with a revolutionary concept. By also using the German bore for our French fingered bass clarinets, we are closing an essential gap in the market and also giving musicians who prefer Boehm clarinets access to the sound tradition that inspired Richard Wagner.

If you still prefer a bass clarinet with a French bore, we recommend buying a Selmer bass clarinet at this point. This can be optimally supplemented with the neck from our partner company Blashaus, for which we are also happy to add a B flat’ mechanism to your Selmer instrument.

Innovation –
The Seggelke Neck

Our newly designed neck plays a central role, as its special shape and optimized meassurements have a significant influence on the sound and intonation of the instrument. Our new overblowing mechanism was developed with two register keys, both of which are located on the clarinet body. This means that the upper register key has moved from the neck to the wooden body. As a result, the mechanism is significantly less noisy and comparable to the low-noise piano key mechanism of the bassoon. The second register key is used from the g” upwards.

Perfect playing feel for all musicians –
Convenient keywork and optimum control

Our bass clarinets are characterized by their compact keywork, which is made possible by newly designed, smaller and lighter keyparts. This makes the instrument extremely comfortable to play, even for players with smaller hands. The thumb keys are controlled by newly developed levers with the shortest possible key movement, which guarantees fast and safe playing in the low register.
