Handcrafted production
With technical finesse

The SEGGELKE workshop has a fundamentally different approach to instrument making.
We have managed to combine our craftsmanship and musical experience in the professional field to build unique clarinets for a wide range of target groups and requirements. At SEGGELKE we understand clarinet making as a combination of historical development and craftsmanship and the innovative technical possibilities of the present.

CONSUMMATE CRAFTMANSHIP

Every clarinet that leaves our workshop is the result of masterful craftsmanship and decades of experience. Our employees combine their craftsmanship with passion and perfection. Every detail is carefully executed, from the choice of wood to the precise adaptation of the mechanism to the body of the future instrument. The result is a clarinet of incomparable sound quality and aesthetics that captures the hearts of all musicians. Immerse yourself in the world of consummate craftsmanship and experience the fascination of our unique SEGGELKE clarinets.

PRECISE TECHNOLOGY

At our clarinet manufactory, we use state-of-the-art technology in a targeted manner, but always in coordination with our many years of craftsmanship expertise. Because we believe that true masterpieces are created when craftsmanship and technology complement each other harmoniously.

Our aim is to combine the best of both worlds. We preserve the soul of clarinet making by consciously using the latest machines and digital tools where they can play to their strengths and by continuing to maintain traditional craftsmanship.

Clarinets with distinction

For our newly developed basset horn, we received the Bavarian State Prize “for special creative achievements in craftsmanship” in 2006. In 2013 we won 1st prize in the German Musical Instrument Making Competition for our E flat clarinet model 2000.

Innovative in every detail
Utility model protection

In the industry, we are the “tinkerers with details”; for our customers, we are the implementers.

Our Schwenk & Seggelke brand instruments combine traditional craftsmanship with innovative inventions. This is one of the reasons why several of our mechanical innovations are protected by the German Patent and Trademark Office and can therefore only be found on our instruments:

  • The key arrangement for mechanical simplification with open semitone holes on the lower joint of Boehm clarinets and Boehm basset horns
  • B-C sharp mechanism for clarinets with German system for a more comfortable trill option for B-C sharp
  • Bb mechanism for clarinets and basset horns to improve the intonation of Bb’
  • Optimized tone hole for g on Boehm clarinets and Boehm basset horns to stabilize the sound of g’
  • Wooden bell combination with brass elbow for basset horns and bass clarinets for an optimized dispersion angle and a warmer, richer sound
  • Wooden neck for basset horns for more homogeneous sound development
