Necks for bass clarinets
WITH INNOVATIVE SOUND

Welcome to the groundbreaking collaboration between two leading clarinet making experts:

an extraordinary fusion for first-class bass clarinets!

The partnership between Jochen Seggelke and Martin Suter from Das Blashaus in Lucerne combines proven traditional techniques with the latest instrument technology to bring the sound and playability of our bass clarinets to an unprecedented level, combining the best of both worlds. The result is a new generation of necks for bass clarinets that takes their playing to the next level with innovation.

Clarinet necks are an important part of the instrument, contributing significantly to sound quality, playability and expressiveness. They allow musicians to shape the sound of their clarinet and produce a wide range of colours and styles.

GERMAN BASS CLARINET | NECKS

Our neck, due to its new meassurements, has a decisive influence on the sound and intonation. If your clarinet has a second register key on the neck, we will be happy to offer you a suitable adjustment to give you the best possible playing experience.

FRENCH BASS CLARINET | NECKS

Blashaus.ch has specialized in the world of bass clarinets for over two decades and offers high-quality necks for Buffet Prestige, Buffet Tosca and Selmer Privilege models. Their bass clarinet necks are made thicker and stiffer to optimize the sound of your instrument. You can find further information on this from our cooperation partner for necks at www.blashaus.ch

FRENCH BASS CLARINET | Bb-MECHANISM

For all bass clarinets, we recommend the retrofitting of our Bb-mechanism, developed in cooperation with Blashaus.ch, in addition to the neck. It enables a decisive improvement in the intonation of the notes E/b’ and F/c”.

The notes E/b’ and F/c” are critical notes for clarinetists, as they are difficult to control in certain registers of the instrument and can lead to intonation problems.

Our Bb’ mechanism is an innovative solution to improve the intonation of the notes E/b’ and F/c” on the bass clarinet. By adding a smaller speaker vent and an additional built-in Bb’ resonance hole, the airflow and pitch of these notes are optimized. Improving intonation enables the clarinetist to play these notes precisely and at the correct pitch, which is particularly important in demanding musical passages or ensemble performances.

By improving the intonation of these notes, the clarinetist can produce a harmonious and balanced sound that harmonizes well with other instruments and enriches the overall musical performance. The Bb’ mechanism is therefore a valuable addition for bass clarinetists who place the highest demands on their playing quality and strive for precise intonation.
